Ghost Lantern Clay Workshop

Join us for a hands-on Ghost Lantern Clay Workshop, where creativity meets the art of pottery! This engaging class is perfect for both beginners and those with a bit of experience, and is designed for participants of all ages—whether you’re a curious adult or a creative child.

In this workshop, you will create your own spooky clay lanterns that cast a soft, glow once tea light is added (tea light not supplied in class). Our expert instructor will guide you through each step of the process, ensuring you have a fun and rewarding experience. Pieces will have to dry out for approximately 2-3 weeks after creation before we send them into the kiln.

What to Expect:

• Introduction to Techniques: Learn fundamental hand-building methods in slab work in order to craft the ghost’s body, and lantern elements.
• Guided Instruction: Follow along with detailed demonstrations and receive personalized tips on shaping your ghost lantern, adding textures, and incorporating unique details to make it truly your own.
• Creative Exploration: Whether you’re designing a ghost with a friendly face or a more mysterious look, you’ll have the freedom to express your imagination and style.
• Two-Part Workshop: Your class fee includes a follow up visit to the studio for glazing. You’ll learn how to apply glazes to bring out the colors and effects you desire, or if you prefer, we can glaze it for you in a single color, your choice of a black or white.
